Ty Mawr Wybrnant
The village itself is renowned as being the birthplace of Bishop William Morgan who translated the bible into the Welsh language in 1588. This monumental undertaking was critical to the survival of the Welsh language. Ty Mawr Wybrnant, the house where Morgan was born, can be found by following the road to the rear of the pub, and is well worth a visit.

Penmachno MTB Trails
The Eagles Bunkhouse regularly houses groups of mountain bike enthusiasts who visit the village specifically to ride the esteemed Penmachno Mountain Bike Trails. Described as a “Hidden gem” of North Wales mountain biking the two distinct loops take in 30kms of the stunning surroundings, combining technical descents, tight single-track forest sections and incredible views.

Go Below Underground Adventures
Go Below Underground Adventures are a local enterprise, located on the outskirts of the village, offering fantastic subterranean experiences in disused mines above neighbouring Cwm Penmachno.
Offering fantastic experiences which include underground zip wires, abseils and even boat sections the Go Below team also delve into the history of the mines making for an a truly memorable day out.

Being located within the Eryri National Park, the village of Penmachno is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the United Kingdom. The tourist hotspot of Betws-y-coed is a short 4-mile hop from the village, whilst stunning North Walian beaches can be reached in as little as half an hour by car.
Betws-y-coed
Known as The Gateway to Eryri (Snowdonia National Park), the village of Betws-y-coed attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world each year. The stunning landscape mixed with the alpine-esque village, saw Betws-y-coed named as the best for a holiday in the UK in 2024 by Go Outdoors.
